Google Play Music Error Retrieving Information From Server

This error message may occur while you’re downloading or updating an app regardless whether it’s paid or free. It may occur to all Android devices since it’s app- or device-specific error but an issue with the Google Play Store.  How to Fix Google Play Music Server Error
1. Check your date and time settings Every server has a date and time security certificate that validates your connection. However, your connection request may be refused if you’re not using the correct date and time settings.
Go to Settings and locate Date and Time or Time Zone Enable Automatic time zone or Set automatically
2. Clear Google Play Music and Google Play cacheGo to Settings → select AppsSelect the Google Play and Google Play Music appsTap the Force Stop button to close the appsTap Storage and tap Clear Cache and then Clear DataReboot your phone.
3. Update or reinstall Play Store MusicTry updating your Google Play and Google Play Music apps.

4. Remove your Google accountWhen you use Google Play or any other apps downloaded from the Store, your Google account is used to pass a series of authentication processes for security reasons.
If some of these processes fail to complete due to sync issues or because your connection is not stable, removing your Google account from your phone and setting it up again should solve the problem.
In this manner, you basically force your Google account to sync with Google’s servers once again.

Understanding and maintaining laptop batteries

Who wants to make an urgent dash to a power outlet to rescue their laptop battery? That’s no fun, especially with everyone working and learning from home these days in various corners of the house that may not have a convenient socket nearby. Luckily, modern laptops are much more efficient than their predecessors. Nowadays, even inexpensive desktop-replacement laptops and some gaming behemoths can last for more than eight hours on a single charge. Ultraportables often endure for 14 hours or more.
Three types of batteries power the laptops you’ll find in service today, nickel cadmium (NiCad), nickel metal hydride (NiMH), and lithium ion (Li-ion), with Li-ion being the most common in newer laptops. Each battery type has a different chemistry for generating a charge and, therefore, different characteristics.
CapacityThe capacity of batteries is measured by power delivered per battery weight, rate of self-discharge, and useful cycles. Power is often measured in watt-hours per kilogram, or Wh/kg. Self-discharge refers to the fact that all batteries lose power when they’re stored. Cycle refers to how many times a battery can be taken from a full charge to a full discharge before the battery can no longer hold power.
The fact that batteries discharge over time is affected by temperature. At higher temperatures, the discharge rate is faster. The general rule to follow is to store them in a cool place and use them at room temperature.
Nickel cadmiumIn tests performed in a lab by Cadex Electronics, Inc., nickel cadmium batteries had a life of 1500 cycles, which means they went from full charge to full discharge 1500 times before giving out. Because of the chemistry of this battery, however, NiCads can suffer from a so-called memory effect.
And like NiCad batteries, if you don’t fully discharge and recharge them periodically, their useful life is reduced. You could potentially get only 175 cycles out of them. On the other hand, they do better than NiCads when you discharge them only a little bit before recharging. Unlike NiCad cells, you increase the number of cycles when you work with your laptop unplugged for just a little while, then plug it in and recharge the batteries. Remember, NiCads like to be fully emptied, NiMH batteries prefer to be only partially drained.
Lithium ionOf the types of batteries mentioned here, lithium ion cells have some powerful advantages. They have an energy density of 150 watt-hours per kilogram. Like NiMHs, Li-ion batteries have no memory effect. That is, they don’t lose the capacity to fully charge if they aren’t fully drained. Left on the shelf, they lose the least power. Their discharge rate, at 10 percent per month, gives them a good storage life (but they must be used within two years of manufacture).

How to Use Googles Block Store Library for Signing into Apps

The problem is more prominent when you migrate to a new phone from a different OEM, as specific OEM backup and restore solutions are often tailored towards that particular ecosystem. Google has been attempting to take a crack at this problem by leveraging the Google Play Services framework and Google Drive to provide a built-in backup manager service for Google’s Android.
Augmenting Applications and Data Porting When Migrating to New PlatformsWhen you migrate to a new Android phone with an updated or new OEM, it can be tough to get back to your preferred state of applications. Since restoring solutions and specific back-ups are tailored to each particular ecosystem, such issues are bound to affect the new Android 11 platform users.
Previously, Google leveraged its play services framework for a built-in back-up manager for its Android Google drive application. The operating system tried to crack these challenges by backing up your call history, contacts, specified application data, and text messages.
However, since Google drive auto back up settings and data, it’ll log out of all accounts in during migration. This opt-out scenario creates headaches for many who can’t recall specific password details.
This device migration situation is on the verge of improving. All thanks to Google’s new Block Store Library.
Using Google’s BlockChain Library for App Logins and Sign-UpsLet’s say you’ve purchased a new smartphone, tablet, or Android TV. Logging into the accounts that provide application services can get frustrating. Third-party password manager apps can help to a certain degree. But that also means your confidentiality level is compromised.
For instance, a new phone may take a while to set-up. Seeing as you had the previous model for nearly a year. You may have registered into apps using different credentials for services and apps. Google’s restore and the back-up app don’t accommodate login details.
The only Android compatible app that supports account-wide login with the Smart Lock feature is Netflix.
While still in beta or release mode, Android’s Block Store Library by Google will take the frustration of moving your preferences to a new device or platform. A token style system for the API (Application Programming Interface) will require developer input to fix user migration issues.
As part of your Google account, you can back up account credentials for simultaneous app logins. Tokens will store your information for apps that support the Block Store Library API, using end-to-end encryption.

Android: How to Remove the Background on Any Image

Things become much difficult when it comes to removing the background from the image on Android. Although there are lots of Android Photo editing apps available on the Google Play Store, none of them has a background eraser feature.
Erasing the background on any Android can result in a lot of funny pictures. You can remove the background of a picture of you and then use another app to turn yourself into a WhatsApp sticker, for example.
Or, you can add a tropical background and make everyone think that you’ve visited the tropical island of your dreams. The following Android app does a great job of removing the background on any image without the need for in-app purchases.
Erase Backgrounds Automatically on Any Android Device
The app you’ll need to install is called Remove.bg – Remove Backgrounds 100% Automatically. When the app opens, tap on the blue upload image button and choose what app you want to add the image from. The app does a great job of removing the background even in the tiniest details, but there is one annoying thing.
The app has you go through some tests (not all the time). It’s to make sure ¨you’re human¨ by selecting an image’s traffic lights. Other than that, it gets the job done. The image whose background is removed will automatically appear in your device’s gallery.
What you do with the image after is your choice, but there’s always the option of turning that image into a WhatsApp sticker. You can use apps such as Wemoji, Stickerly, or Sticker Maker. Other apps might not have the option to remove the background for you, and you have to remove it yourself. But, this app does a great job if you need to get things done in a hurry.
ConclusionThis app is a real life-saver if you want to remove the background in a picture with complicated edges. It cannot be enjoyable when you can’t get rid of those last pixels from the image. What will you be doing with the images whose background you’re going to remove?

You get Podcast Addict from the Google store, and you load Podcast Addict with your favorite content. Podcast Addict is discrete with consuming data on your device. The interface will show you all of your subscriptions, but you have control over how much content is actually loaded on your device, provided that you are not using the streaming option.

Your QueueThe app gives you control over where you want podcast episodes to appear in your podcast queue. This, like many other options, is performed with simple actions that are common for most devices today.
Play SpeedSpeed adjustments let you review your content briskly if you just want a quick review. Or, you can slow the content down to focus on important parts. The app has a great sleep timer that allows you to drift off to sleep or other activities after a certain amount of time.

If you listened to all of the content on your Podcast Addict app, you would have no life. It is time to move the downloaded content off of your device because it is taking up too much space.

Google Files: How to Save Files in a Private Folder

There’s usually always someone that thinks that just because you left your phone unlocked, they have the right to browse through it. Since there are usually files with sensitive information on our devices, it’s best to keep those files out of reach.
If you’re looking for a good file manager and an app with a feature to keep your important files safe, Google Files is a good option. It’s an easy to use app that gives you the option to put files in a locked file.
Files added to the Safe Folder can only be accessed after entering a 4-digit PIN but can be freely moved in or out of the folder. Google encrypts the files in the Safe Folder, meaning they can’t be decrypted if you ever forget the 4-digit PIN. Furthermore, the Safe Folder isn’t saved to the cloud, so you can’t transfer its contents between devices.
How to Send Sensitive Files to Safe FolderIf you haven’t done so already, go ahead and install the Google Files app on your Android device. Once you’ve opened the app, tap on the Browse tab at the bottom. Look through your files and select the files you want to protect with a code.
Once you’ve selected the files, tap, not he dots at the top right. Choose the Move to safe folder option. You’ll be asked to create a four-digit pin to access the safe folder. Since it’s the first time to access the safe folder, you’ll be asked to enter the pin twice.
Tap on the dots to the right of the file. You can do things to your file such as Delete, Move out of safe folder, and File info. That’s all there is to it. Many apps have this feature, but it’s good to know how to use it if you’re already using it.
ConclusionEven if you don’t usually lend your phone to someone, it’s a good idea to have any important files in the safe folder. You never know when you might need to lend your phone to someone in the last minutes. That way, you prevent those files from being seen by others.

With USB-C, even plugging in can set you up to be hacked

USB-C has brought the world much more powerful charging options in a slimline connector. With laptop chargers and portable battery packs using the standard, many with older hardware are converting their devices over to work with USB-C.
But some attackers are finding a weakness in phone charging. Many newer phones use the same port – one of several types of USB – for both connecting to a computer and charging. A charger could be modified to attack your phone via that trusted connection. This has led some researchers to recommend never using public USB chargers for your smartphone.
Older mobile phones, including some smartphones, that used power-only connections didn’t have to worry about this issue. Users of these devices can plug in to public multi-device charging stations without worry, as there is no connection to the device’s data. For those with combined data and power ports, however, the same port that many people only use to power their phone is commonly used by hackers and even law enforcement to access the data on it.
Laptops can now be attacked by USB power portsUntil recently, laptop computers had enjoyed some protection, with most having a dedicated power port to connect their chargers to. Other purpose-specific ports allowed connections to desktop monitors, conference room projectors and other devices, without need for concern. USB-C changed this, with one high-speed port now able to provide and receive power, send video signals to projectors and monitors, and connect to USB thumb drives and numerous other peripheral devices.
Most of the time, this is extremely convenient, reducing the number of different ports needed on today’s lightweight and compact laptops.

How to Access Your Chrome Downloads in Android 10

Before the update, if you download something from chrome, it’ll show up in both the chrome downloads folder and the default files app. After update to android 10, whenever you download something via chrome, the downloaded file won’t show up on the files app!
Once you’ve downloaded that image you needed, it’s time to see how to access it. Right after you download an image, Chrome shows you a blue Open option at the bottom to see what you’ve downloaded.
One option would be to tap on that option, or you can go to Chrome’s Download folder as well. Tap on the dots at the top right and choose Downloads.
You can filter your search by only seeing images, pages, and all in the Downloads folder. You also have the search bar to find a file and may even be faster if you don’t want to spend too much time looking for a file.
By tapping on the dots to the side of the download, you’ll also see options to share or delete the download. So if you don’t want anyone who might use your phone to see you’re a Martha Stewart fan, you can go ahead and erase that recipe you downloaded.
In that folder, you can also make Chrome ask you where you want to save your future downloads. Tap on the cogwheel at the top and toggle on the option that says Ask where to save files.
By tapping on the Download location option, you can have your downloads go to your device or the SD card. There’s also an option to download an article over WiFi.
Access Your Chrome Downloads Through a File ManagerFile Managers are beneficial. Depending on the one you have, you can count on a few or a large variety of options to keep your files organized. For example, Google Files is one of many file managers with a section, especially for your downloads, so they are easy to find.
When you first open the app, the download option is the first one on the list. You can search your downloads with tabs such as All, Download, WhatsApp Downloader, and Fill and Sign in the download folder.
